Meet the founder: Evangelia Michailidou

Discover the unique journey of a Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist who bridges critical medical care with cutting-edge information systems. Learn how a passion for saving lives extends to optimizing hospital efficiency through digital innovation.

From saving lives to saving systems

As a Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist, my career is dedicated to saving lives in critical care. My transition to creating this website, as part of my second degree at the University of Macedonia (PAMAK), was inspired by a simple truth: Medicine saves patients, but Management and Information Systems save hospitals. My main message is that even at the peak of a medical career, learning never stops. I want people to understand that Digital Tools are not just software; they are the 'digital oxygen' that ensures patient safety and hospital efficiency.

Critical care expertise meets digital innovation

My experience as an Anesthesiologist-Intensivist has uniquely prepared me for the challenges of Management and Information Systems. In the ICU, I make high-stakes decisions under extreme pressure, where accuracy and speed are vital. This 'crisis management' mindset is identical to overseeing complex Information Systems: both require real-time data monitoring, zero tolerance for error, and seamless coordination. I bring a unique 'front-line' perspective to this project, understanding exactly how digital tools (like HIS and PACS) can eliminate human error and optimize hospital efficiency when every second counts.

A digital roadmap for patient safety

I am most excited about demonstrating how Information Systems can be the bridge between clinical excellence and efficient hospital management. My goal is to create a digital roadmap for patient safety. I hope this website will inspire my colleagues in healthcare to embrace digital transformation, and my fellow students at the University of Macedonia (PAMAK) to see the life-saving potential of Business Administration. I want others to understand that when technology and medicine unite, we don't just manage hospitals better—we protect human life more effectively.

"As an Anesthesiologist-Intensivist, I've learned to keep the most critical human systems alive. Now, it's time to prove I can keep an Information System 'alive' for the needs of PAMAK!"
